Our U9 Girls played their final game of the season Our U9 Girls played their final game of the season this morning against Na Fianna. The Camogie skills on show by all our girls were superb, they all worked so hard across all four matches they played & had plenty of fun along the way.

Huge thanks to all the coaches, parents, sponsors and players for a great season. 20 games played and nothing but fun along the way!

Here’s to 2025!

Our u11 Camogie girls made the short trip this mor Our u11 Camogie girls made the short trip this morning to take on our neighbours @stperegrinesgaa for our last scheduled camogie match this year. Across four mini games we had really strong performances from everyone - good teamwork, picking out players in a better position, brave defending and some great striking from the ground and the hand.

All the hard the girls put in at training is showing on the field.

U16 Boys Group E Shield Semi-Final Tyrrelstown 4: U16 Boys Group E Shield Semi-Final

Tyrrelstown 4:11 (23)
Westmanstown 7:6 (27)

Our u16 boys hosted Westmanstown today in the shield semi-final in what turned into a titanic struggle. Despite leading at half-time and registering 15 scores to our opponents 13 the game was decided in a 15-minute period at the start of the second half when Westmanstown blitzed us for four goals including two well taken penalties. Our young men never gave up though and brought it back to the bare minimum with time almost up. We then went in search of the equalizer that would bring the game to extra-time but our opponents lifted the siege and found the net with virtually the last kick of the game.

We wish @gardawmtgaels all the best in the Shield final.

A great effort today lads – the club is very proud of everything you achieved this year and look forward to seeing you represent us at Minor level in the near future.

Over the last two weekends our u15 girls’ teams Over the last two weekends our u15 girls’ teams competed in two championship finals – despite a fantastic effort we were unfortunate to be on the wrong side of the score line when the final whistle went in both games.

Despite the disappointment the club is very proud of the effort that everyone on both teams put into the whole season – players and mentors can look back with great pride on a year when the footballers only lost one game, and the camogie players only lost two games.

Single code orange final Tyrrelstown 2-3 Foxrock Single code orange final

Tyrrelstown 2-3
Foxrock Cabinteely 7-7

There’s any number of ways to review the season – the ‘winningness’ (in our case, it was decent: we played 25 games since February, winning 16 and scoring 97 goals and 197 points – significantly more than we conceded), the delivery of silverware (done: we won the Championship shield and also got to single code red and single code orange finals) but, in our case especially, it’s that immeasurable thing - are our players making friends and creating memories?

We shouldn’t try to put a number on that. All we know is, as mentors, we consistently have 100% turnout at training and matches, we regularly have to listen to the players sing (and, trust us, some are more talented than others), and we are constantly trying to get them to listen rather than chatter (but, in moments of honesty, we love the noise they create!).

Sunday wasn’t our day. The weather was equally bad for both teams, but @FoxCabGAA had more in their engine, and on their bench, than we did. We’ll get over it – the players walked off, hopefully proud of the journey that they are on. They should be sure that their mammies, daddies, family members, friends and dogs, all of whom regularly attend the games, are massively proud of what they’ve achieved.

In three months’ time, they’ll take to the pitch as the club’s first ever @DublinLadiesGaelic minor team. Have a look at the two photos attached. The first is from our first ever game – July 2019. The second from this season.

More than half the players are still with us. That, if anything, is our true sign of what the club and community managed to do.Thanks as always to our team sponsors!

On Saturday last the club tracksuits were left at On Saturday last the club tracksuits were left at home, the girls wore their gunas and the lads dusted of their brown shoes for a night of fun, food and 'fabulous' dancing as the Club marked the 15th Anniversary of its founding.

A great night was had by all as we celebrated the dedication and achievements of our Committee members, players, coaches and volunteers over the past 15 years.

We remembered the challenges, the hard-fought battles and the moments of celebration but more than that, we remembered the friendships forged, and the sense of belonging that makes this club so special for children and adults alike

We look forward to a future that promises to be bright and exciting, where the Club continues to grow and develop and to inspire the next generation of players and where we build on the strong foundation that has been laid by its members, both past and present.

A special thanks to The Carlton Hotel, for their excellent hospitality and food on the night.

Also huge thank you to all the local businesses that supported our birthday raffle:

U16 Division Seven shield final Tyrrelstown 7-5 C U16 Division Seven shield final

Tyrrelstown 7-5
Clontarf 1-2

Where to start? A humorous reflection that while planes couldn’t land at Dublin Airport, your heroes manage to land 12 scores and only conceded three over the course of 60 minutes? Or perhaps something about the opening scene of the Wizard of Oz and the tornado which wreaked havoc to Dororthy’s house?

Anybody in Dublin will know how ferocious the weather was last Sunday. Anyone in Tyrrelstown will know that it didn’t matter a bit to the u16 players.

They took to the field determined to build on the earlier wonderful win delivered by the u13s in their championship final.

The weather was truly horrendous and disproportionately impacted on what could have been a fantastic game between two well matched teams. The ball didn’t leave the left-hand side of the pitch for entirety of the game, such was the strength of the wind. The Tyrrelstown players came to terms with it perhaps a little more quickly than the opposition. We kept the ball low, used hand-passes rather than kicks and gradually built up a dominant position.

Thanks to @ClontarfGAAClub who played the game in a wonderful spirit. They never gave up.

As always, the entire Tyrrelstown squad contributed: the sixty-minute game is only the end-point - the culmination of training, and practice, and fitness built up over twelve months. This group of 21 are the very definition of “team”. Fun is had by all, and even when games were lost, and results went against us, morale was high and the collective mood encouraging. They are a joy to spend time with and Tyrrelstown GAA are lucky to have them among our numbers.

You have one final chance to see this group play this year- in Tyrrelstown Park on Sunday in the final of the Single Code competition. Throw in 3pm. Come along and cheer them on. You won’t be disappointed.

Thanks as always to our team sponsors
