Tyrrelstown GAA Club was founded in 2009, the year of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the GAA. We provide opportunities for juveniles in our community (4 to 16 years old) to play Gaelic Games in a safe and fun environment. Our aim is to promote and ensure participation by local children in outdoor team sports without regard to their family socio-economic circumstances.
Our mission is to look “Beyond the Ball”. We are focused on improving our community through the provision of opportunities to play and safe places for play. We Strive to engender a “Pride of Place” in the youth of Tyrrelstown, Mulhuddart, Hollywoodrath, Bellingsmore, Baymeadows and Hollystown through their connections to the club. Through active participation in team sports young people develop life skills, personality traits and friendships that help them mature into adults who will contribute in meaningful ways to our society.
In 2019, we celebrated our tenth anniversary and launched our first ever girls’ teams when we affiliated to the LGFA and formed girls U11s and U14s football teams. Today, almost half of our members are girls and we have teams for boys and girls from U8s through to U16s. We have an active Academy every Saturday morning at 10AM for 4 to 6 years old children. It is a fun environment where children learn and develop fundamental movement skills and are introduced to the basic skills required for Gaelic Games.
Tyrrelstown GAA club is largely sustained by the hours of service dedicated by volunteers. We always need adults to volunteer as coaches with various teams and we provide appropriate training for coaches, child safeguarding courses and Garda vetting. We also have opportunities for volunteers who would like to use their skills in social media, public relations, administration, fund-raising and / or community engagement to assist us to grow the club over the next decade.
So why not contact us today, if you have a child/children who like to get involved or you would like to volunteer for a mentoring role or join one of our subcommittees. You can DM us from our social media pages or
